Senior Bowl

This is the most important time of the year for NFL teams. It is when they have to figure out what players they want to draft for the new year. This all starts with the senior bowl that was held over the weekend in Mobile Alabama. The senior bowl is when the best of the best seniors from all over the country are on either the north or the south team, depending on where they geographical region of the school they went to is. They spend about a week practicing and preparing for the game and meeting up with different professional teams to see if they are good for that team. The senior bowl has come along way because now the players have to see this as a job interview and not just an all star game where they can relax and have fun. It has to be taken seriously at all times because you never know who is watching you play or watching how hard you work during practice which is where the coaches make most of their assessments about that athlete. However, it is making college football players become more competitive at the college level so that they could play in the senior bowl and will give them the best opportunity to move on to the next level which is the NFL. College teams like to market their players as much as they can so that they can go back to their high school recruits and say this player made it to the NFL, you can too. Its a trickle effect that goes from the NFL to college football to high school football. They all connect to each other in some way shape or form. This is why college football is so great for this country and the NFL.

  1. For someone who is not a sports buff, your post clearly explained to me the concept of Senior Bowl and why it's such a great event. Very cool. What kinds of updates was the Twitter account making about the events?
